Apogee's First Supplier Day

In April, Apogee hosted its inaugural Supplier Day to recognize its valuable partnerships. The event emphasized the importance of suppliers in Apogee's success and served as a platform to enhance collaboration. During this event, Apogee's top executives expressed their gratitude for the hard work and dedication of our suppliers. They highlighted the essential role that suppliers play in delivering high-quality products and services to customers.

During the opening night, the Apogee Expo provided a platform for senior leadership from our suppliers and Apogee to network, spark discussions, share ideas, and understand all the brands and Segments of Apogee. The following day, Chief Procurement Officer Greg Sachs commenced the day with an overview of the Supplier Day, setting the tone for the activities ahead. CEO Ty Silberhorn then welcomed attendees, offering insights into Apogee’s transformation journey, followed by CFO Matt Osberg, who provided a financial update and shared Apogee’s focus on growth.

After a series of presentations, Apogee organized a panel featuring Brent Jewell, Jon Close, and Jane Boyce. They addressed questions about the state of their business units, discussed how Apogee is winning in the marketplace, and the critical role supplier delivery and quality plays in our growth. The panelists discussed topics such as how Apogee and our Supply base can win together, considerations when selecting suppliers, and how our suppliers can get involved with our Apogee Management System (AMS) journey. The lively discussion concluded with a sense of optimism and excitement for the future, leaving the audience inspired and eager to see what new developments lay ahead for Apogee.

A highlight of the event was a presentation by Jeff Dyer, the lead author of the bestseller "The Innovator's DNA," which outlines five skills used by the world's top innovators to generate creative ideas. Dyer emphasized developing these skills to foster innovation and explained how to apply them effectively. His expertise shone through as he delved into strategies for developing these skills, emphasizing their importance in fostering a culture of innovation within organizations. He shared strategies and behaviors to spark creativity and detailed a method for bringing innovative ideas to fruition. Jeff's engaging delivery left the audience motivated and eager to apply his teachings to their own endeavors, setting the stage for a future filled with groundbreaking innovation and success.

Greg Sachs presented the FY25 Key Sourcing initiatives, focusing on Supplier Scorecards, the Supplier SAVE program and the launch of our Preferred Supplier Program. Bryan Hitz closed the day with a review of our Apogee AMS deployment journey, successes, and a call out to our suppliers to support AMS. The event concluded with reinforcing existing relationships and paving the way for future collaborations and success. The Supplier Day underscored the positive impact of collaboration, engaging more openly and proactively around innovation and how to enable Apogee’s economic leadership, with a heightened focus on Supply Chain performance and waste reduction.
